#1 FACEBOOK
- As a member of the Data Transfer Project, Facebook developed its own Data portability tool. It is available for users in the US and Canada. Large tech companies have seen this as a potential remedy.
- Facebook will make its new design the default UI from September. Earlier, users had the choice to switch between New facebook and classic Facebook.
- The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) told Facebook in June 2019, it was probing whether the company has engaged in unlawful monopolistic practices.
#2 APPLE
- Apple is facing higher production costs for the iPhone 12 due to the inclusion of 5G. It is going to use cheaper battery technology for the iPhone 12 series. Next-generation AirPods will follow similarly.
- Apple has reduced its rate for Amazon in the App Store, questioned by DCN and other publishers.
#3 WHATSAPP
- Advanced search mode has been rolled out. This search mode is still under development and will be rolled out for all users. Now, It is applicable only for the users who are using 2.20.197.17 version.
- WhatsApp servers went down for several users across the globe. Many users complained of being not able to send or receive messages.

Telecom brands Jio and Airtel have introduced a lot of prepaid plans that come with a free subscription to the streaming apps. Now, Aitel added a new prepaid plan that offers Diney+ Hotstar.
